REMA System is a Non-profit operating Join stock company

Why was REMA System founded?
The main reason was providing of obligations imposed on importers and distributors of EEE by the novelisation of Act No.185/2001 Coll., on waste.

Who founded REMA System?
Foundation of REMA System was iniciated by biggest importers and producers of EEE in the Czech Republic.

Which groups of WEEE are covered by REMA System?
REMA System covers collection, logistics and treatment of all categories of WEEE. However, main focus is set on the following categories:
3. IT and telecommunications equipment
8. Medical device


Can foreign producer join REMA System?
No, according to Czech waste law,only companies registered in Czech trade register can be registered as producers of WEEE in the Czech Republic.

How to join REMA System?
1. Contact Client department

2.Sign a agreement

3. Send information requested by the Ministry of Environment

Will I pay for a registration?

No, the registration is free of charge.

How will I contribute to the System?
Recycling fee is payed quarterly. The amonut is based on the report of EEE put on the market during a quarter.Recycling fee of REMA System is reflecting real costs of a collection and treatment of WEEE in a specific group and  year. If you wish to check current recycling fees click here.


What is the legal framework for theatment of WEEE in the Czech Republic?

Act No. 185/2001 Coll., on Waste

Decree 352/2005 Coll., on Handling Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment

Who is considered as a producer of EEE?
According to the Waste Act, producer means any natural or legal person authorized to operate a business who, irrespective of the selling technique used, including by means of distance communication

1.    manufactures and sells electrical and electronic equipment under his own brand, or
2.    resells under his own brand electrical and electronic equipment produced by other suppliers, unless the brand of the person pursuant to point 1  appears on the equipment, or
3.    imports electrical and electronic equipment to the Czech Republic or puts such electrical and electronic equipment on the market in the Czech

How to enter a reporting system?
The reporting system is accessible either from our website or directly from www.remadata.cz .

When to report?
Always within 30 days after the end of a calendar quarter.

How and when will you receive an invoice?
In case that the total reported sum is higher than 1000 CZK, the invoice will be redy within 3 days after the reporting.At the same time you will receive information to your contact e-mail.

Shall I pay a recycling fee for appliances, which are exported from the Czech Republic?
No, recycling fee for these applianes are not payed. For further information please contact Client department .

Are there any other take-back systems in Europe?

Yes, similar systems are operating in all EU countries.
